I study at a high school. My school is very big. There
are many classrooms, a big garden, and a sports hall.
My favorite subject is physical education. I like playing

Alice in Wonderland is a fantastic animated musical

movie about a young girl named Alice. There are many
different and interesting characters in the movie. Alice
is the main character. The movie tells the story of her
                   exciting adventure.

Alice falls asleep and has a dream. In her dream, she
follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole. Then, she
meets strange and interesting creatures. One of them is
the Duchess. She has a baby, and her baby turns into a

pig. Another strange character is the Mad Hatter, who
invites Alice to an endless tea party.

The Cheshire Cat is an unusual character that can
disappear and reappear whenever it wants. Alice plays

a game with a flamingo called croquet. Later, she meets
the Queen, a cruel monarch who calls for the death of
                   everyone in Alice’s story.

At that moment, Alice realizes all the characters are just

a pack of cards. Then, she wakes up from her dream.

               When you eat, food

               down the 1........................

               any bacteria that were
in the food. This part of
               the body also breaks the

               food into smaller pieces.

Then, it goes into the 3.......................... intestine. Here, your body can take
all the good things from the food to keep you healthy. Finally, it travels

through the 4.......................... intestine and becomes poo. This is all the waste
that our body doesn’t want or need.

Another important body part involved in digestion is the 5...........................
This is the largest organ in your body. It helps to turn fat and sugar into

               energy.

The organ that is just under your stomach, the 6.........................., is also
important. It sends messages around the body when you feel hungry
and helps to control the sugar in your blood.

Every year in July, lots of people around the world watch the Tour de
France. This is a bike race that started in 1903. In the first race, there
were 60 people cycling – a third of them were professional cyclists and
the others were there for fun.

Now, there are about 22 teams in every race, and every team has eight
riders. Over 21 days, they cycle around 3,500 kilometres. The longest Tour

de France ever was in 1926 – the cyclists had to travel 5,745km.
The winner of the race gets a yellow jersey. They first used the yellow
jersey as a prize in the 1919 Tour de France. In that race, 67 cyclists
           started, but only eleven finished.

It’s a very difficult race and there are lots of doctors to help the cyclists.
They have to drink a lot of water and eat a lot of food to give them

           energy to cycle.

Here is an office. The people at this
office are helping animals. They give

food to hungry animals. They also

make shelters for them, because some

animals don’t have a home, and those
             animals aren’t happy.

                            - My Pet Lily
             Warm up
             1. Do you have a pet?
             2. What kind of animal is it?
              3. Do you often play with it?
               4. What is it doing now?

My pet is Lily. She is a young rabbit. Lily is one year old. She’s brown
and she’s very small, but she runs quickly and has big ears. I like her

              little white tail.
Lily lives in the garden. She is often hungry and eats a lot of vegetables.
Lily loves carrots and eats them from my hand. She is now listening to

the radio with me and eating some carrots.

                 HALLOWEEN

Halloween is on the night of October
31st. People celebrate it mostly in the

                 United States and Canada. Children

wear special clothes and they go to
                 neighbors’ homes. They say “Trick
or treat!”, and ask for candy and
                 sweets. They sometimes carve a
pumpkin, and put it on their heads.

They do this because they want to
                 frighten people. People sometimes
wear costumes to look like ghosts
